DS90UB924-Q1: BIST is enable ,There one or more errors were detected,What errors does BIST contain?

Part Number: DS90UB924-Q1

dear TI experts

The clock cannot be locked when UB941 and UB924 are paired,But UB941 and UB948 can be easily paired and locked,So we believe that UB941 is normal.

But when we turn on the BIST of UB924, the PASS pin is set low,So we want to know :1.what anomaly detection the BIST contains?2.How do I link and lock between UB941 and UB924?

Regards

  • Hi QW,

What MODE_SEL1 strap mode do you have the 941 configured when you are having LOCK with the 948?

What MODE_SEL1 strap mode do you have the 941 configured when you are trying to achieve the 924?

    • 924 does not support coax mode in case you have the 941 configured to COAX. You will need to change the strap mode to Twisted pair.

Are you using our EVM's or a custom board?

  • Hi

Yes, we use UB941 of TDA4EVM,and UB941 configured to Twisted pair

    UB924 is custom board

    UB941 register configration as follows:

but UB941 Link status register show that cannot lock,

  • Hi QW,

Can you confirm what is the video timing you are using to configure when you are configuring the 924?

The 924 only has a single FPD-Link port; therefore, it supports a max PCLK of 96MHz. The 948 has two FPD-Link ports where if one port is being used it supports a max PCLK of 96MHz and 192MHz when using two FPD-Link ports. When you connect the 941 to the 948 are you connecting both ports or only port 0?

It is possible to have LOCK with the 948 if your PCLK is higher than 96MHz and using Dual FPD-Link. When you are switching to the 924 and using the same PCLK you will not have LOCK.

Do you have LINK between the 941AS and the 948?

    • Can you read registers of the 924 remotely?

  • Hi

thanks for your reply, this problem has been solved.  The reason is a hardware problem,The mode_sel configuration of UB924 is incorrect, Set Repeat、BKWD、I2S_B  and LCBL to Low,then ub924 is locked

  • Hi QW,

Glad it got solved. I will close this thread if there a no more questions.
