DS90UB948-Q1: How can I generate a super frame with padding lines under Linux

Hi,

The Serializer is able to split a super frame to 2 separate sub frames.

Here in my case, the super frame will be composed by a 1920x1080 frame and a 1920x720 one. The 720one will need to insert some dummy lines to align with the 1080 frame according to the requirement of the serializer.

Which tool on the Linux I can use to generate this super frame?

We can support questions related to specific setting for splitting of the superframe, and forwarding of the resultant frames within our device, but generating the superframe frame itself that is outside the scope of FPD-Link devices.

After you figure out how to generate a superframe, here is an app note that explains how to split and forward the superfame video with 941AS-948 devices.

Thanks, but how can I test this feature? Is there standard testing procedure or setup from TI to test this feature?

Hello,

You can't really test it without having a superframe video generated from the source. We could send you a script that uses internal patgen from the 941AS to verify the video path between the 941AS and the 2 (948s) however, this will not verify the superframe functionality since for that you need a superframe input to the 941AS.

If you want a script please provide the full timing spec for each of these displays.
