Hello,
I am looking for an ethernet re-driver to support (1)25GAUI, (2)10GXFI and 10GSFI, do you have any recommendations?
Thanks

Hi Gang,
We only have ethernet driver support for our devices. You can find out product folder here: https://www.ti.com/interface/ethernet/phys/products.html
It sounds like you are looking for support for Multi-Gig PHY devices, is this correct? Unfortunately, we do not have any Multi-Gig PHY devices at this time.

Melissa
Hi Gang,
It looks like this thread was assigned to the wrong product line. I am reassigning it to the correct product line.

Hi Gang,
We have the following redrivers which support 25GAUI:
These redrivers will support 10G data rates as well, although equalization is better optimized for line rates in the range of 25-28 Gbps.
We have the quite a few redrivers with equalization optimized for line rates in the range of 10-12.5 Gbps. I suggest browsing these options.

Lucas
Hi Lucas,
Thanks for the reply!
(1) For 25GAUI, I check the datasheet of DS280BR820, it does not mention exactly 25GAUI in its application. Is it true that this redriver is protocol independent, and only cares about the speed?
(2) For 10G redrivers, it's the same. As I search for SFI/XFI, I did not find any parts in this list.
(3) A side question, this is not about redriver selection.
I am not sure what is the difference between SFI and XFI in terms of electrical wise. Is it true that SFI ethernet controllers can support XFI as well, but XFI does not support SFI?

Yes, all of our ethernet redrivers are protocol independent and can support protocols such as auto-negotiation and link training. Our redrivers do not check data rate of the signal as they have a linear signal path which applies equalization. But the equalization profile of DS280BR820 is optimized for 25-28G signals.
Note that our ethernet retimers are protocol independent as well but do not support auto-negotiation or link training because they do not have a linear signal chain. I did not recommend any retimer PNs to you as you requested redrivers.
(2) For 10G redrivers, it's the same. As I search for SFI/XFI, I did not find any parts in this list.
The 10G redriver selections I provided are marked as supporting "fibre channel" which should cover SFI and XFI applications.

I suggest reading these standards which cover electrical specifications for XFI and SFI.

Hi Gang,
Yes typically our redrivers are simpler devices than our retimers.
I'll be closing this thread since I believe I answered your questions, feel free to reply if you have any followup questions.
If you need any help with redriver bringup don't hesitate to open a new E2E thread.
