Part Number: DP83TC812S-Q1
Hi team,
SNLA389A shows that the PMA test mode register is 0X0836.

But the register given in the datasheet is 0X1836.

Which one is correct? How should we choose the configuration?
Thanks
Xiaoxiang

Hi Xiaoxiang,
It is register 0x1836, or register 0x836 in MMD register space 0x1.
You can write to the register using the follow extended register steps:
0xD=x1
0xE=0x836
0xD=4001
0xE= desired value
You can read to the register using the following steps:
0xD=x1
0xE=0x836
0xD=4001
read 0xE
Best regards,
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
Thanks for your support.
I want to know when to use 0X1836 and when to use 0X836? Could you give an example of how to use 0X836?
Thanks
Xiaoxiang
Hi Xiaoxiang,
There is no register 0x836 for this device. The registers you screenshotted are the same registers. Another way to say register 0x1836 is to say register 0x836 in register space MMD 0x1.
The steps to read/write to register 0x1836 are written above.
Best regards,
Melissa
Hi Melissa,
My customers found that they use 812S and writing 0X1836 cannot enter the corresponding test mode.
However, writing 0X0836 can enter the corresponding test mode, so we are very curious about the difference and reasons.
Thanks
Xiaoxiang
Hi Xiaoxiang,
How are they writing to 0x1836 vs 0x836? Can you ask them to provide a screenshot?
Best regards,
Melissa
