TUSB8044A: TSUB8044A Downstream ports are able to be disable by hardware switch??

Hi Brian,

 the datasheet mentions that individual control of Downstream Port Power switch is available in TUSB8044A. I guess it means that VBUS EN pin is able to make disable VBUS power ONLY, not data communiation.
I have other candidate which USB 3.0 Gen 2 IC ( Not included PD) is able to give port disable featrue by shorting USB 2.0 Data line each other. Could you please confirm it of VBUS EN pin control disable USB data communiation in TUSB8044A?

          it depends on how did you connect your downstream ports , do you connet USB device directly to TUSB8044A? does down stream port device need Vbus to work?

Hi Brian,

 1. I connect them to USB device to TUSB8044A via USB C -type or A - type connecotors. Also 1 of 4 DS port support PD function, so I put TUSB321 on schematic. 
 2. Maybe.. yes. It depends on user scenario.

  For USB A or C connector, VBus is needed from hub downstream port. If you disabled the Vbus by switch, then downstream port will stop data transfer as well.

   Please send a block diagram for your application  if you can.
