DS90UB953-Q1: Register to improve the robustness

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi team,

Could you please kindly help if our 953 have some registers to improve the link robustness?

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hello Brian,

Due to the US public holiday, the team is currently out of office with some members returning 1/02. Responses will be delayed during this time. Thank you for your patience.

  • Hello Brian,

Thank you for reaching out. The 953 has various diagnostic registers and registers which enable error checking and other protocols such as the AEQ that impact link between the devices. Most of these are enabled by default. However, some additional settings for improved bring up is setting register 0x0A[1] =1 as well as 0x32[6] = 1. Please note, that oftentimes registers alone can not overcome link issues due to incorrect hardware or layouts. Depending on the chosen deserializer, additional registers may be available such as the parity error and link error threshold registers, which controls the number of errors that will result in link being lost, as well as setting the SFILTER_CFG register (normally 0x41) to 0xA9. For link robustness, it is recommended to verify that all channel specifications as well as layout guidelines are followed when initially designing the system so that the devices can operate without the need for additional software solutions.

    Darrah
