Hello,

I want to use DP83TC813R standalone as an ethernet status detector without any microcontroller

the default 0 register states appear like i can use the LED_1 output to see if ethernet is OK as i don't want or need blinking and will just use it as a logic output.

Will this work?

Hi Dimitri,

The default function for pin 14 is a 25M output reference clock.

Unfortunately, link status indication is not possible without using an MCU for register access to mux the GPIO.

would what im describing be possible with DP83TC811-Q1, or another phy ic that has LED_0?

Hi Dimitri,

Yes, DP83TC811 supports link status as the default function for LED_0 (pin 35), and link status + TX/RX activity for LED_1 (pin 6).
