Hi Team,

Please tell me the procedure for using each loopback function.
Can the user get started by simply doing the following?
If no, please tell me correct procedure.

MII Loopback:
Set register address 0x0000[14]=1b

Near-end Loopback:
Set register address 0x0016[4:0]
　00001 = PCS Input Loopback
　00010 = PCS Output Loopback
　00100 = Digital Loopback

Far-end Loopback:
Set register address 0x0000[14]=1b

Reverse Loopback:
Set register address 0x0016[4:0]=10000b

Hello,

Far-end and reverse loopback are synonymous. For analog or digital loopback, it is advised to disabled auto-negotiation and auto-mdix.

Thank you for your reply.

For analog or digital loopback, I'll advise the customer to disable auto-negotiation and auto-mdix.

And I understood Far-end and reverse loopback are synonymous.

Are the other procedure correct?

What's the purpose to do software reset at this timing?

Could you please provide more context? Software reset is used to wipe PHY configurations back to initial.
