DS320PR1601RSCEVM: GEN 5.0 REDRIVER

Part Number: DS320PR1601RSCEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS320PR1601

Hi,

In DS320PR1601RSCEVM user manual  it is specified that no shunts are placed on JMP22.(image of same given below)

Does it mean none of the PRSNT 2 signals are connected to PRSNT_1 signal?

Is PRSNT_2 signal indicates the link width?

Thanks and Regards,

Shekha Shoukath

  • Hi Shekha,

Yes, JMP22 floating means that the PRSNT1 signal is not connected to PRSNT2. PRSNT1 is the primary hot plug detect signal and PRSNT2_x are located along the connector with some relation to lane width of a hot-plugged endpoint. From my reading, the connection between PRSNT1 and PRNST2 signals is only needed during certain hot plug situations (fairly unlikely in the typical use cases for the DS320PR1601, I have not seen this before).

    Best,

    Evan Su
