DP83867IR: Reasons for VDD1P1 / VDD1P0 for different packages

Part Number: DP83867IR

Hi Team,

other customer, but same PN and similar question:

The customer wants to use the DP83867IRRGZ but only has 1.1V on the board. So the natural question if VDD1P0 could be connected to 1.1V vs. adding a separate LDO for a dedicated 1.0V supply.

Since 1.1V is still in the range of the recommended VDD1P0:

  • Any concerns for continues operation at 1.1V vs. 1.0V? (understood that the margin to MAX 1.15V is of course smaller)
  • Can you share some background why the different packages have a different typ. recommended supply of 1.1V vs. 1.0V?

Thanks and best regards
Martin

  • Hi Martin,

As long as the 1.1V fit with in the range of recommended voltage it should be fine.

Some background internal information, we change the voltage from 1V1 to 1V0 based on the customer's need when we develop the DP83867PHY before.
