Customer have 2 questions as below, please help to support these 2 questions. Thanks.

1. Option1 and 2 have any IC for Power Switch  to supply Type-C VBUS Voltage_Like TPS25810?

2. All the IC Current limit are 3A? Can it adjust the register to define current 5V/5A? EX:HS3SS3220 .Can it workable and support?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Option1 and 2 have any IC for Power Switch  to supply Type-C VBUS Voltage_Like TPS25810?

Are they looking for a combined power switch and CC controller, or just a power switch?

All the IC Current limit are 3A? Can it adjust the register to define current 5V/5A? EX:HS3SS3220 .Can it workable and support?

Our CC controllers are simple devices that can advertise up to 5V at 3A on the VBUS. If you need more than 3A, you would need a PD controller

    Best,

  • Hi Shane,

    We appreciated your great support!

Are you looking for a combined power switch and CC controller, or just a power switch?

Reply: We are looking for Power Switch 5V/5A Spec, whatever single or combine if it can meet.

Could you give me suitable suggestion? Thanks a lot.

    Jimmy

  • Hi Jimmy,

Since our CC controllers cannot advertise more than 5V at 3A, a PD controller would be more suitable for this application.

Let me refer this thread to the PD controller team.

    Best,

    Shane

  • Hi Jimmy,

5V, 5A contract is actually not permitted within the standard type-C spec. The max you can do at 5V is 3A. You can see the different power profiles within the type-C spec below that our PD controllers follow.
