DS90UB947-Q1: ds90ub947-q1 and ds90ub948-q1 Interrupt Pin (INTB)

I have project using chip FPDLinkIII ds90ub947-q1 and ds90ub948-q1. In datasheet ds90ub947-q1.pdf and ds90ub948-q1.pdf. I am trying to learn about the interrupt pin (INTB) feature. I read about how INTB works between ds90ub947-q1 and ds90ub948-q1 (picture below) and also see that this Pin is used in repeater mode. But I wonder that what else can this feature can be used for?

Hi, as shown in the repeater section, this feature can be used to extend to multiple displays. With that feature the DES acts as a video input to the SER and the video can be transmitted to more deserializer and displays.

INTB pin on the 947 can be used to output interrupts on the 948 INTB_IN pin as a remote interrupt. This would allow the SoC or MCU to receive interrupts from the display/deserializer side.

Hi Ikram,

With your answer I am understanding that if I don't use repeater mode, I needn't concern about INTB pin. Is that right?

Hi Le, that is correct. If you are not using it in repeater mode nor as a remote interrupt pin, then you can leave it unused.

You should follow the datasheet recommendation. If unused, the 947 INTB pin should be pulled up, and the 948 INTB_IN pin should be tied to external pulldown.

a remote interrupt pin??? Sorry I read the datasheet but I can't still clear about this feature. I am just a fresher so I sorry because take many questions

Hi Le, that feature is optional. You can refer to the "7.3.9 Remote Interrupt Pin (REM_INTB)" section of the 947 datasheet.
