SN65HVD230: CAN transciever LED indication for SEND/RECIEVE?? how to do this?

Hi i am about to use the circuit in the picture,

i have confirmed that this is working without any problems for me (using this with an orange pi 5 plus)

but it would bee good to have some led indicators for SEND and RECIEVE.

my question is, how can i do this the correct way?

You can put LEDs (less than 8 mA) on the D and R pins; the signals are active low. CAN is bidirectional, and the transceiver always outputs the bus state on R, so the TX LED will never light up alone.

thank you very much for your fast answer, then this is what i understood from your explanation.

the led i chose is a 5mA led Vf 2.8v, blue emitting color. The tx/rx signals should be 3.3v if im correct. therefore i need 100Ohm resistor for each led.

No current will flow in this direction; swap the polarities.
