SN65LVDT33: sn65lvdt33pw maximum temperatures

Hello, can you please provide the maximum operating and survival junction temperatures for part sn65lvdt33pw?

  • Can you also provide the junction-to-case thermal resistance?

    I believe the max operating the absolute max junction temperatures are the same for this device.

    Using the dissipation rating table on page 4 of the datasheet:

    The power rating for the PW device is 402mW. The Operating factor is 6.2mW/C

    We can take 402mW and divide this by the 6.2mW/C to find the increase in temperature if we assume max power (402mW)

    402/6.2 = ~65C

    This power rating was stated for 85C so we add 85C to 65C to get our final junction temperature

    85C+65C = ~150C.

    This means the max junction and operating should be 150C for this device.

    Can you also provide the junction-to-case thermal resistance?

    I've tried looking this up in our internal thermal system but it seems to be bugged for me at the moment. I'm going to leave this ticket/thread open and check back tomorrow to see if it works for me. If not, I will submit a new request to get this information (usually this takes up to 2 weeks though so I'm hoping I can search the database rather than submit a request).

    I've confirmed with my colleagues on the thermal database. Looks like it's not in it so we will need to submit a request. I've already put in a ticket for it. 

    I'll keep this thread open and report back when I get the thermal data.
