Hello

I am using the PCA9306 to translate from 3.3V I2C to 5V I2C bus. With Vref 1 = 3.3V and Vref2 and EN connects to 5V via 200k res. Is this correct? Is there a capability to simulate the I2C bus using this part?

An example showing this case in the Data sheet would ahve been nice.

This is correct. This is shown in figure 9-1, with different supply voltages.

Fig 9-1 shows 1.8V and 3.3V. I will take Fig 8-1 as a baseline. Vcc1 = 3.3V, Vcc2 = 5V.

At En = 3.3V + Vth = 3.3V + 0.6V = 3.9V. Assume Rx is res of the pull-up shown as 200k in Fig 8-1. And assume Iref 2 target is 4uA. Then Rx = (5-3.9)/4uA = 275k. I will design my circuit with 275k. You also did not answer "Is there a capability to simulate the I2C bus using this part?".

The datasheet's recommendation of 200 kΩ is designed to work for all voltages; you do not need to change it.

There is a HSpice model for the PCA9306. For PSpice, use the LSF0101 model.
