ESD protection device ground

I have USB 2.0 full speed device whose data and power (VBUS) lines I am trying to protect from ESD.  This device is going to be housed in a plastic housing. I am thinking of using TPDXXXX series to protect data (D+ and D-) and Power (VBUS)  lines of USB from ESD events. Where should I connect the GND of the ESD protection device? to the PIN-4 (GND) of the USB connector or to the metal shield of the connector? he device is USB and connected to the host with a 2 meter USB cable.
