Part Number: TUSB9261-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261

Dear sir

Can you tell me what is used for Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) Signals? I want to remove SPI. it is possible to remove it from circuit.

i want to make a UBS3.0 to SATA converter that has an input voltage of 5V.

regards

om prakash roy

  • Hi Om,

The SPI pins are used to communicate with attached SPI flash memory devices or EEPROMs to flash the firmware image to the local RAM on start up. If not being used, then the firmware will have to be flashed via the HID interface.

We recommend using an external flash device or EEPROM, as this simplifies the process of flashing the TUSB9261 with the correct firmware.

i want to make a UBS3.0 to SATA converter that has an input voltage of 5V.

Do you mean an input power supply of 5V, or a data input of 5V?

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan

  • we gave 5V input through USB.

so it is compulsory to flash the TUSB9261.

  • Hi Om,

If you're referring to 5V VBus, then you will need to regulate the voltage down to 3.3V and 1.1V, as well as ensure it meets timing requirements. Additionally, VBus will need to be divided down for the USB_VBUS pin as so:

Yes, in order to have full functionality, it is recommended that the TUSB9261 be flashed with the provided software.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
