Hi,

Can the TM4C1230C3PM SSI0 (Master) be used in conjunction with the TI TCAN 4550?

Additionally, we plan to communicate SSI1 (Slave) with Intel SOC SPI (Master). Is this feasible?

    Hi Jeff,

    My expertise is with the TCAN4550 and not with the TM4C1230C3PM.  I've briefly looked at the TM4C1230C3PM datasheet and I believe the SSI interface is what they call their SPI interface, so I would believe it could work with the TCAN4550.  But I think this question would better be addressed by the TM4C1230C3PM support team because they would know whether the TM4C1230C3PM can be configured to meet the TCAN4550's SPI format requirements.  I have yet to see an MCU that could not be made to work, but you may want to post your question to E2E with the TM4C1230C3PM part number instead of the TCAN4550 so that they can confirm.  Some modification to the standard SPI driver functions may be needed to handle the chip select signals may be required if 32-bit words are not natively supported.

    Section 8.5 of the TCAN4550-Q1 datasheet outlines the SPI format requirements.
