SN65HVS882: Interfacing high-voltage applications to low-power controllers

Part Number: SN65HVS882

I'm looking for an interface to connect a wide range of voltages with a uC when i found this article https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slyt393/slyt393.pdf?ts=1707307365496

I just started reading "A new generation of interface circuits providing this function are digital-input serializer (DIS) devices. They can sense digital input voltages ranging from as low as 6 VDC up to 300 VDC and convert them into 5-V serial data streams while consuming almost 80% less power than a discrete design. This capability makes DIS devices the most power- and cost-efficient solution in industrial interface applications" and realized that was exactly what i was looking for.

But the issue comes at Figure 9  ("Back-supplied digital-input system" part nº  SN65HVS882) with input from 6 to 340V but the datasheed indicatesthat  inputs support up to 34V

So my question is, is the Figure 9 design correct ?

Do you have another IC that can accomplish this purpose?
