Hi,

We are using NXP SC16C554BIB64,157 which EOL, our maximum baud requirement is 115200 bit/s , crystal used 7.3728MHz

TL16C554A looks drop in replacement. please can you let me know if TL16C554A can be used? any  firmware changes needed?

    Hi Arvind,

    The register maps and the pinout are the same but usually when customers switches from one manufacturer to another; there are sometimes timing issues.... so I usually always say we can't guarantee firmware changes/modifications won't be required. So I would suggest being open to modifying firmware if you replacing the device doesn't immediately work.
