DS90UB925Q-Q1: The way to establish I2C Pass Through All Mode

Part Number: DS90UB925Q-Q1

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering DS90UB925 and DS90UB926.

They have questions about pass all mode.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

There are questions about DS90UB925Q and DS90UB926Q.

Could you please advise?

<Question 1>

Only the microcontroller (I2C master) is connected to the I2C on the Serializer side (DS90UB925 ),
Multiple slave devices are connected to the I2C on the Deserializer side(DS90UB926). (display mode)

Configure pass-through ALL (*) on 925
When the I2C master accesses the slaves of the Serializer (DS90UB925), it is enabled Forward Control Channel pass-through of all I2C accesses to I2C Slave IDs that do not match the Serializer I2C Slave ID.
There is no need to specify Alias each time.
Is this understanding correct?

(*) 925 register settings
Set the I2C Pass-Through Mode bit in 0x03 to 0 (Pass-Through Disabled)
Set the I2C Pass All bit in 0x17 to 1 (Enable Forward Control I2C accesses to I2C Slave Serializer I2C Slave ID.)
There is no need to set the Remote Slave Device ID of 0x07.
Remote Slave Device Alias ID of 0x08 does not need to be set.

<Question 2>

Communication is not possible with the above 925 register settings (Pass Through All).
On the other hand, it is possible to access using Alias,

Are there any other settings required for use with Pass All?

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi
