TUSB212: Pre-channel and post channel max routing length

Hi Team,

How can I understand the statement in datasheet 'Supports up to 5m pre-channel or 2m post-channel Cable Length' means the total length from host and device can be 5m+2m = 7m, or it means the total length is 5m?

Hi Jaden,

Ultimately, the distance that the TUSB212 supports will depend on the pre- and post-channel loss- of the system in decibels at 240Mhz.

The length measurements mentioned in the datasheet were near-end eye diagram measurements and were tested using the TUB212EVM. The TUSB212EVM could either support a 5m post-channel, with 8-inch cable pre-channel OR a 2m pre-channel with a 1m SMA cable post-channel.
