TPD2E2U06-Q1: Usable for 1000base-T1

Part Number: TPD2E2U06-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPD2E2U06, DP83TG720EVM-MC, TPD4E05U06-Q1

Dear team,

Is TPD2E2U06(-Q1) usable for 1000base-T1 ESD suppressor diode? I feel line capacitance CL=1.5pF is quite high for 1Gbps signal.

But DP83TG720EVM-MC has it on the board....

Best regards,
Yuto Kitamura

  • Hi Yuto,

Going off the insertion loss graph and the relationship of frequency and data rate (Freq = Data Rate / 2):

The -3dB point for this device is around 3Ghz, meaning it should be able to support data rates of up to 6 Gbps.

If you are worried about this device still, TPD4E05U06-Q1 has a capacitance of 0.5pF. If the device is on the EVM, I believe it should be tested with the implementation and should be good to use for this application.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Best Regards,

    Josh Prushing
