DP83826E: CXET Pin

Part Number: DP83826E

On the spec, it says that CEXT pin needs to connect to the 2nF. but in the EVM user guide, it connects to 0.1uF. Which one is correct?

Is 1.5nF or 2.2nF capacitance acceptable?

  • Hi Brian,

I understand the confusion your are having. As a general rule of thumb trust the data sheet, they are usually the most up-to-date document you can refer to for our devices. The DP83826EVM was designed prior to the release of the DP83826, since then we have found new learnings and update the data sheet accordingly. Functionally, either of these capacitor values won't affect anything. It is more of a BOM cost reduction choice.

    Regards,
