DP83TC811R-Q1: DP83TC811R-Q1 Init/Configuration sequence

Hello, 

we are working with DP83TC811R-Q1 device. We are trying to configure start-up sequence to get Ethernet communication between devices. I found discrepance information in following documents:

'DP83TC811: Configuring for Open Alliance Specification Compliance' and 'DP83TC811R-Q1 Datasheet'.

In first document, it is shown Testing IOP (link-up sequence).

However, this register 0x0475 does not match in second document Datasheet:

Is there any error in any of these document?

On the other hand, we would like to know and example to start-up the device and get the communication stablished, which are the steps etc.

    Hello David, 

    There is no error in either document, Register 0x0475 value 0x0008 indicates bit 3 is high which is a reserved bit in our datasheet which doesn't mean it isn't functional it just isn't publicly displayed.

    Could you send me an example of start-up sequence of DP83TC811R-Q1 to stablish ethernet communication? 

    Refer to 0x475 register, I don't see the relationship between  PHY link-up and register description.

    I think register which is related to 'To not let PHY link-up until config is done' is 0x485 instead of 0x475 

    Do you know if Master node configuration steps on document 'DP83TC811: Configuring for Open Alliance Specification Compliance' and 'DP83TC811R-Q1 Datasheet' is tested?

    Hello David, 

    Master node configuration steps on document 'DP83TC811: Configuring for Open Alliance Specification Compliance' and 'DP83TC811R-Q1 Datasheet'  have been tested and it is an example of start-up sequence of DP83TC811R-Q1 to stablish ethernet communication. One PHY should be configured as master and one should be configured as slave. Register 0x0475 and register 0x0485 are both in the master mode configuration steps and are necessary. There is no error in the document.
