TCAN1146-Q1: TCAN1146-Q1

Part Number: TCAN1146-Q1

Hi team,

I want to wake the CAN Chip from micro controller which has IO voltage of 3.3V.

But VIH min of Wake pin is 4V. Is there any way to change the voltage level of WAKE pin using registers?

With regards,

Maniimuthu

  • Hi Manimuthu,

The WAKE terminal is intended to be connected to a battery-level input signal that can be toggled while the Vio and Vcc supplies of the system are disabled. Such a signal can be controlled by an MCU GPIO pin with the use of an external FET set up in an open-drain configuration.

If Vio is available and the MCU is active, it can control the state of the transceiver including waking it from sleep mode by sending a SPI transaction. Would this be possible in this use case or is a GPIO toggle the only way this wake will work in this case?

  • Hi Eric,

    Thank you for the reply.

Can you pls provide the example circuit for 'external FET set up in an open-drain configuration'

  • Hi Manimuthu,

See below for a open-drain FET configuration.
