Hi, TI expert.

A customer has an inquiry during development review.

- I2C GPIO: Two-way communication

At first, I planned to use three GPIO expanders_8CH to achieve 24CH, but I'm considering applying VCCI/VCCP as 3.3V with TCA6424A, which seems to allow the use of 24 GPIOs.

Could you please confirm if there are any issues with this?

Hi Grady,

No issues with this implementation. Sounds like you are solving the problem with 1 device instead of 3.

Would there be no problem using the same 3.3V power source for both VDD(I2C-BUS) and VCC(P) as shown in the circuit below?

This is fine.

(You do not need two separate decoupling capacitors if they are near each other anyway.)
