TCA9548A-Q1: Level shifting capabilities

Part Number: TCA9548A-Q1

I would like to use the TCA9548A-Q1 to level shift my I2C bus from 1.8V on the controller side to 3.3V on the downstream channels. This seems possible, but there is text in the datasheet that says the part "...may also be used for voltage translation, allowing the use of different bus voltages on each SCn/SDn pair such that 1.8 V, 2.5 V, or 3.3 V parts can communicate with 5 V parts." Does this mean that at least one channel must operate at 5V?

I have VCC powered from 1.8V, SDA/SCL and RESET are pulled up to 1.8V, and the downstream channels SDn/SCn are all pulled up to 3.3V. Will the part work in this configuration?
