TCAN11623-Q1: TCAN11623dMTRQ1 Solder Breakout Board

Part Number: TCAN11623-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1162EVM

Hello,

I ordered the TCAN11623dMTRQ1 can transceiver.  However, when the product arrived, I realized it was too small to do any direct soldering to so that I could connect it to a breadboard.  Is there a breakout board for this specific CAN Transceiver that I can order so that I am able to connect it to a breadboard for lab experiments?  I just need to be able to solder the chip onto a breakout board and plug the breakout board into a breadboard.

Thanks,

Ronald

  • Hi Ronald,

The TCAN1162EVM is an evaluation module designed to allow lab-use and experiments of the IC. This board has the 14-pin VSON footprint for the transceiver, breakout pins and test points for digital signals and power sources, and a differentially roughted CAN bus with options for all common bus passives including a DB-9 connector for easy integration with CAN harnesses for network testing. You can get this board from our store page at the link below.

For a less costly option for a simple breakout to breadboard connection, I recommend searching for a 14-pin, 0.65mm pin pitch breakout board. Many of these are available online that will fit the VSON packages of the TCAN11623. I recommend referencing the package drawing on the datasheet including the recommended land pattern to ensure that the footprint on the breakout board will accept the IC.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
