    Does the CANH/L  need 120Ω characteristic impedance on PCB Layout?

    The (characteristic) impedance of the traces, the cables, and the termination should match. In theory, you could design a system with a different impedance, but in practice, everbody uses 120 Ω. (And this is what the device is tested with, and what the electrical characteristics are guaranteed for.)
