DS90UB947-Q1: - As a Pattern Generator

Part Number: DS90UB947-Q1

Hello,

I am using the EVM DS90UB947 encoder  board as a pattern generator, and it is working well  with the '946 and '948 decoder boards.

I will be creating a new Printed Circuit Board as part pf a text fixture, board space is tight.

When the DS90UB947 is working as a pattern Generator with internal Clocks;

Do I need to install 100 ohm termination resistors on the CLK+/` and D0~D7 +/-  input lines ?

or can I leave them floating?

Thanks,

James

  • Hi James,

    The unused pins can be left NC/ floating.

    If there are LVDS inputs, or using PatGen with external timing/clock, then they will need the 100 ohm termination though.
    Will this board only be used for pattern generation?

    Best regards,
    Ikram
