Hi Application team:

    My Customer have design in 2x TPD3S716QDBQRQ1 for USB both upstream and downstream port applicaiton. 

could you please help review schematic and give review suggestion?

  • Hi Roy,

    Here are my Findings for this review:

    1.  VBUS_CON must have at least 1uF of derated capacitance in the pin.  This is typically met with a 4.7uF capacitor

    2.  VIN must have at least 1uF of derated capacitance in the pin.  This is typically met with a 4.7uF capacitor

    3.  The schematic has ESD diodes  on the VD+/VD- lines.  These are only requires if greater than 8kV IEC contact ESD protection is required

    4.  The schematic has peaking inductors L0502, L0501, L0505, L0504 without the matching capacitor footprint to ground.  Omitting these capacitors will limit you ability to tune the USB lines for signal integrity

    The first 2 items must be corrected and Items 3 and 4 are suggestions for potential systematic improvements.
