Hello,

Our customer got a question about if it is possible to connect pin s to the ground and connect nothing to the Vref pin. If they connect the Vref pin to the ground how much capacity they should use, they want to use a 47uF according to the reference design of NCV7340. Could you please help with how to connect and why to the Vref PIN.

You would use a capacitor as part of the split termination. The transceiver itself does not require a capacitor at the Vref pin; if the Vref pin is not used, you should leave it open.

More modern transceivers like the TCAN1057A-Q1 do not need a Vref pin to reach the same EMI performance. (You can still choose to use split termination.)
