Hi TI support team, 

Will DS90UB954-Q1 be damaged if the input is abnormally connected to -1V or 35V?
I just need to change ac-coupling capacitor rating to 50V, is correct?

    Hi Andy,

    Thanks for raising this question here. You are correct that AC coupling capacitor should be 50V rated for the UB954, this will isolate the FPD-Link receiver of the UB954 from the external PoC voltage connected to the deserializer. One important consideration here would be if there is a PoC circuit / ESD diode also on the high speed trace. These components can also be impacted when DC bias is applied to the RIN / DOUT path.
