DS90UB960-Q1: Topology supported

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1

Hi, Support team.

I'm currently working on ADAS project and investigating the architecture. As we are targeting on the ASIL D redundency idea, thus we would like to understand if there is possibility of have some new topology. Below are 2 initial idea from my side.

Topology 1: we have one or more cameras can simutanuously streaming the data to both Des 1 and 2, the Power1 will power up the camera by PoC normally. But in case Power 1 or Des1 is fail, we can have a MCU and Power 2 will power up the camera by PoC. We can have a MCU to output control signal.

Topology 2: We have one or more cameras, imager can stream video to 2 Ser(Ser1 and Ser2) by Chain, and simutanously streaming the data to Des1 and Des2, seperately. Power1 will power up the camera by PoC normally. But in case Power 1 or Des1 is fail, we can have a MCU and Power 2 will power up the camera by PoC. We can have a MCU to output control signal.

The idea is to have 2 independent system as redundency to support the function working. If you have any adivce, that will also be really helpful

  • Hi Xuan,

Unfortunately, the two topologies are not feasible in the structures shown. Topology 1 is not feasible as each serializer can only lock to the back channel of one deserializer.

Topology 2 will not be feasible as CSI requires active termination. The same CSI traces would not be able to be routed to two separate serializers. In order to get a similar functionality, two independent CSI data need to be input to the serializers. Let me know if there are any additional questions.

    Best,

    Zoe
