TSER953: 3840x2160p30

Part Number: TSER953
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDES954

Hi,

We have used TSER953 and TDES954 for 1920x1080p60 RAW10 video in the past successfully.

Now we are doing 3840x2160p30 RA10 and having an issue. Frame sync broken and sometimes partial frames.

Configuration:

1. Back channel synchronous clock from de-serializer = 24.0000 MHz

2. Sensor IMX334 (4-lane CSI-2) CLKOUT = 24.0000 MHz

3. ISP: FPGA (verified by using sensor hooked up directly to FPGA 3840x2160p30)

We are not sure what other settings supposed to be for TDES954 and TSER953 for 3840x2160p30 RAW10. Could you please guide us on this?

  • Hello Sam,

due to a public holiday in the U.S., the whole team is out and will be back on Monday.

  • Hello Sam,

Thank you for your patience during the holiday. What CSI speed are you programming? Due to the increased resolution, a higher speed may be needed. Also, to support the higher resolution a higher reference frequency on the deserializer is needed. Please refer to the clocking modes table in section 7.4.1 of the datasheet. When operating in synchronous mode, the CSI bandwidth is determined by the reference frequency x 128. With a reference frequency of 24MHz, the CSI bandwidth is 3.072Gbps.

  • Hi Darrah,

Thank you for your support. We have ordered 25MHz oscillator. Once we get it, we will test and get back to you.

    Regards,

    Sam

  • Hi Sam,

Thanks for the update. Whenever you have more results feel free to post here again.
