TUSB319-Q1:Help. PD not active. only 500mA (ID Pin is normal)

The schematic looks ok. Is the issue that your VBUS will only pass 500mA to the UFP?

The CC controller doesn't limit the current moving through VBUS, it only communicates what current will be provided and when to turn off/on the VBUS switch. I'm thinking your VBUS switch (U2) or the power source is limiting this current. To be sure, can you measure the voltage at the CURRENT_MODE pin on our device?

This is the correct behavior for our device, so It seems like the TUSB319 is working. I see you've set the VBUS switch (U2) to the highest current setting, which should pass 3A.

Does this mean the power supply for 5V_B+ is able to provide 20A? This should be plenty for the VBUS and our device.

Is 5V_B+ powering any other devices that could be drawing a lot of current?

Hi Wooin,

If you're providing VBUS as the DFP, you'd need a VBUS switch. Its a good idea to see whether the switch is limiting your current draw.

You might want to try testing if can draw 3A of current through the switch when it is enabled. If not, your switch may be implemented wrong or faulty.

3A switch is OK.

I thought there was a problem with TUSSB319 because of the time the switch went up to 3A, so I changed Current_Mode to Mid (510K) and tested it. But the output was 500 mA.

The voltage was measured with a scope, and the results were different from before.
Maybe I made a mistake, sorry.

CC1 : -110mV ~ 121mV(RMS: 8mV) 

CC2 : 759mV ~ 1.16V (RMS : 957mV)

I'm using mobile Galaxy S22 for testing.
Can it be different according to UFP?

Hi Wooin,

That schematic looks correct for high current mode (3A). To confirm, can you measure the voltage at the CURRENT_MODE pin? I want to be sure its within the high current region (>Vdd-0.3)

It may be that your Galaxy S22 is choosing not to draw more than 500mA. Could you try another UFP device that would draw 3A?

So I'm reviewing a product called AP43771V, although it's from another company. Is there a similar product in TI?
The feature is that it does not have F/W.

Let me refer this thread to the PD controller team to see if they have a part similar to that.

My team only supports our CC controllers, so I'm not sure when it comes to PD controllers.
