1) Format to interpret the date code, marking

2) Also what is the marking "PATENTED" on the IC means, example is this an engineering samples. or others?

3) Will there be any marking on Country of Origin at the bottom of the IC?

My guess is.....

N=Israel Fab

S=Singapore assembly

9=2009 or maybe 2019

12=12th week of the calendar year

AJ=Die code

PC16552DV = Device name and package

No idea on why it states there is a patent on it, I think National Semi (TI acquired them in the 2010s I believe) may have had some patents on their UART devices at the time which they may have stamped 'patent' on the device to showcase they own the IP.
