DS250DF230: HEO/VEO Threshold Concept

Part Number: DS250DF230

Hi,

1) “7.15 HEO/VEO Lock Monitoring” in the Programmer's Guide (SNLU182G) states:

"Enable or disable Horizontal Eye Opening (HEO) and Vertical Eye Opening (VEO) monitoring for CDR lock qualification. HEO/VEO lock monitoring will cause the CDR to fall out of lock if the HEO or VEO fall below the configured threshold."

By “below the configured threshold ” do you mean “the threshold or less”?

Or do you mean “less than the threshold ”?

2) I think It will lock when the threshold set by 0x6A is exceeded.

Do you mean “more than the threshold ”?

Or do you mean “the threshold or more”?

Best Regards,

Nishie

  • Hi Nishie-san,

    1. Based on the language used, I expect that CDR lock will be lost if HEO or VEO are less than the threshold.

    2. I expect CDR can lock when HEO and VEO are greater than or equal to the threshold.

Note that register 0x6A configures the threshold to meet before lock is established, while register 0x76 configures the threshold after lock is established.

    Best,

    Lucas
