TCAN4551-Q1: Good replacement for SJA1000?

Hi team,

When doing a schematic review for a customer, I noticed that they have the SJA1000 designed in, but it looks like it is obsolete according to Mouser. In this vein, I thought we could potentially win some share here. Is the TCAN4551-Q1 the best recommendation to go with?

Hi Jason,

The TCAN4551-Q1 or TCAN4550-Q1 would be the only recommendations we have for a CAN FD controller that is not embedded in an MCU. These devices have an integrated CAN FD transceiver, but the integrated transceiver can be bypassed and the internal TXD/RXD signals can be brought out through the GPIO1 and GPO2 pins to be used with an external transceiver if desired.
