TMUXHS221LV: Any simple / discrete ways to detect/enable usb-c alt debug mode?

Part Number: TMUXHS221LV
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB320

I have a board that shall trigger Debug Accessory Mode, i.e. pulls both CC lines high.

  • on my device side, I wanna repurpose d+/d- and sbu1/2
  • i want this to be an autonomous detection, i.e. no mcu's or "smart" pd ic's involved

basically I just want a logic io-flag that can control a signal mux that ensures the debug signals aren't present in normal operation

  • Hello,

Would you be able to implement I2C into this system? You could use the TUSB320, as in I2C, this device can display when a device is in Debug accessory mode, which can be used to decide with an external controller which output is being used on the TMUXHS221LV.

Could you send over a block diagram of your intended system, I.E What is connected to DP/DM, and what is connected to DB/DA? That might help give us a better understanding of how this could be set up.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
