TCA9535: I/O Ports question

Hi Team,

Use TCA9535 to replace ON SEMI PCA9535ECMTTXG

But the I/O architecture is different
TCA9535 is push-pull
PCA9535ECMTTXG is open drain

Is it possible to modify the firmware of TCA9535 and change the I/O to open-drain?

    Hi Allen,

    Can you email me here at t-townsend@ti.com to talk more in depth about the TAM for this project? We don't have a device like this except for our TCAL953x and TCAL64xx devices where port-wise OD configuration can occur. 

    TCA9535 does not have configurable OD. We are in the process of looking into a device like this. 

    There is a way to change the FW inside the device to alter the configuration register in order to mimic an OD architecture. Please see this this e2e thread here.
