Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83869
Looking to replace an ethernet PHY device on an existing design which has gone obsolete, NON ti.
I have come across the DP83843 which is literally just the job. The main requirements are Fiber support with pass through to the MII using the special 5bit code, symbol repeater mode (100base-X)
I am aware it is a mature device but the newer alternatives such as the dp83822 do not offer the 5bit symbol interface.
Do you have any suggestions for a newer TI part. Alternatively can you provide an estimated life for the DP83843, it may be still be ok for our needs.
