TLIN1431-Q1: PV Ratio Not Correct

Hi TI,

I am using TLIN14315-Q1, and VCC pin is 5V.

I have 470ohm + 100nF on VBAT pin, and 100ohm+100nF between PV pin and MCU ADC pin.

Then I provide VBAT=12.8V but measure PV pin is 1.42V. The ratio is around 1:9.

I think it should be 1:7 for 5V SBC.

Could you tell me what is going on?

Hi TI,

I also measured RXD output high is 3.3V, is that correct for TLIN14315-Q1?

The Address 07h I read from register is 35h.

Your understanding is correct. Have you had the chance to try this with other battery voltages to see how the PV pin changes with different VBAT levels? We've run internal testing to confirm operation of the PV pin and our results have shown very close to 1:7.00 for different VBAT levels.

Alternatively, have you seen this same result with other units of TLIN14315RGYRQ1?

Hi Danny,

I found I have to pull up nCS to 5V with a resistor, then RXD will output 5V and PV ratio will become 1:7.
