Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDP142, TDP2004
Hi
Could you help suggest RETIMER or REDRIVER as products for Intel's new platform ARROW LAKE,
The display in the product will have DP++ (expected to support HBR3 speed, 4 LANES) output

Hey Gareth,
We only have redriver solutions for this type of system. I recommend the TDP2004, or the TDP142 for this application.
One thing you will need to be careful with in DP++ is the AUX/ DDC lines. The AUX lines requires 100k PUP & PDOWN and are sent with Manchester encoding. The DDC lines are I2C communication and both have a pull-up to VCC.
These signals must be sent on the same data line, but the electrical requirements are different. This is why an external MUX, or MOSFET will be needed to control which signal is being sent which depends on if DP sink or HDMI sink is connected.
Please ask Intel if the arrowlake has an integrated DDC/ AUX bus, or are they separated.
Hi Visheah
Thanks for the reply~. In addition, I would like to further inquire about the application of DP++ HBR3. When the loss reaches how many dB or the cable length reaches, it is recommended to use the redriver in the following letter?
Here are the Insertion loss at Nyquist frequencies provided by DP 2.0 spec. A redriver will be needed if any of these are violated.
