DP83TC814R-Q1: Ethernet PHY not detected - MDIO device at address 0 is missing

Hi Expert!

We are using DP83TC814S-Q1 in our custom HW.

Current we are facing - PHY is not found on the MDIO bus issue.

qcom,emac: MDIO device at address 0 is missing

We have checked the DP83TC812 Troubleshooting Guide

We have followed, this dts(Example2) - https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/msm/+/android-7.1.0_r0.2/Documentation/devicetree/bindings/net/msm-emac.txt

dts entries updated as per the schematics.

As per our analysis, issue in dts, Does any other change required in dts for PHY is not found on the MDIO bus issue-fix.

Hi Muthukumar,

Can you read registers in the linux terminal using any tool such as PHYtool?

What is the PHY address? Please share the schematic so I can check the PHY address straps.

Is the PHY functional? Are you able to link up with a link partner?

Hi Muthukumar,

I see you have selected address 0xC via strap. The error code you shared is expecting to see a PHY at address 0x0. Please change the PHY address in the device tree. Let me know if this fixes the issue.
