TUSB1142: "0" "R" "F" "1" and FULLAEQ questions

Part Number: TUSB1142

Hi Team,

I have two questions.

1. I see VIO_SEL and MODE can set "0" "R" "F" "1" in different setting. I think 0 is pull down to GND. F is floating. 1 is pull high to Vcc. What is R here? For '1' and '0', don't we need to place any pull up/down resistors, correct?

2. What’s the difference in these FULLAEQ setting? How can I set it?

Regards,

Roy

Please see Table 7-1 for the 4-level pin configuration

AEQENZ/SDA enables the adaptive EQ. When AEQ is enabled, the TUSB1142  starts at the lowest EQ value and sweeping through all EQ combinations up to the setting configured by the AEQCFG pin.

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

    Thanks for quick response.

    1. If we used pin strap mode instead of I2C mode, how can we set VIO_SEL pin?

    2. Do you have any recommendation of setting the AEQCFG? Not sure about the design rule.

    Regards,

    Roy

You could set VIO_SEL to ‘F’ when in pin strap mode.

For AEQCFG, I would have both pullup and pulldown options in the PCB design, but initially set it to ‘F’ to adaptively sweep 9 EQ settings.

    Thanks

    David
