TCAN1043A-Q1: TX disconnection issue

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

Hi, Support Team

our client test TCAN1043A-Q1 and find TX can not transmission.

do we need fine tune the hardware to fixed?

Typical schematic:

data bit baur date: 2M is normal

data bit baur date: 4M is abnormal

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for sharing your question on E2E.

I don't see any issue with the two waveforms here.
In the first we see the probed node transmitting several dominant (low) bits and a few recessive (high) bits on TXD. We see the receiver reflect this transmision slightly later due to the propagation delay of the transmitter and receiver (loop delay).
In it second shot we see that the TXD signal is idle, meaning that the CAN controller in the local node (most often an MCU) is not transmitting on the bus. The RXD signal is active showing that there is activity on the CAN bus and the node is receiving communication from some other node in the network.

Do you expect the local CAN controller to be transmitting in the second case here? Is there anything besides the data rate that has changed between the tests? Please be sure that all nodes on the bus are configured for the same data rate.
