TCA9803: I2C buffer

Part Number: TCA9803
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0104E

Hi,

I am developing a test daughter card, in which I2C interface from the evaluation board is used for connecting to four slave devices. In the evaluation board TXS0104 voltage level translator is used and its output is connected to some seven slave devices. On the Daughter card, I am adding four more slave devices, so I thought of using a buffer TCA9803. I just wanted to confirm, if this scheme would work fine.

Sneha

  • Hey Sneha,

This application should work, I do not see any immediate issues. There are internal 10kohm pullups on the A/B sides of the TXS0104E, and for the TCA9803, there is an internal current source on B-side- so no external pullups are needed for the entire system.

    Regards,
