Hi Team!

I have two questions regarding FMEDA for TCAN1145 and I need your support:

1. TCAN1145-Q1 Functional Safety FIT Rate. Regarding the calculation of Reference FIT Rate in this file, is it based on the table 1 in SN 29500-2 as shown in the following figure? What specific part was selected? Can you introduce what considerations were used for selection?

2. Do you have FMEDA calculation files at the TCAN1145 chip level on your end? Can you share it with us?

Shuai,

Since this device is not a memory chip, the table you shared is not the correct reference. While it does have EEPROM, it is considered a Mixed Signal Component with a supply voltage =<50V. From what I can see this is Table 5 in the SN 29500-2 specification.

For the calculation files, I don't believe we can share these directly with you or the customer, but just to make sure I understand, are you referencing the calculation of the FIT rates and failure modes? As in, how the Excel document makes the calculations once the correct inputs are made?
